The front desk can arrange a taxi for you, including reservations for a specific date and time.
If you require a taxi, please feel free to contact the front desk.
On days with high demand, such as during bad weather, there may be a long wait for a taxi, or it may not be possible to arrange one.

Once the taxi arrives, a front desk staff member will guide you, or the driver will come to the lobby to pick you up. After making a request, please wait near the lobby.
If you are not in the lobby at the scheduled time, the reservation may be canceled.
Please note that arranging a taxi through the front desk will incur a pick-up fee set by the taxi company.
For reservations made for a specific date and time, an additional booking fee (AI reservation handling fee) will also apply.
Luggage Storage After Check-out
We are unable to store luggage containing valuables or fragile items. Please remove them before leaving your luggage with us.
When you leave your luggage, you will be given a claim tag. Please present it to our staff when retrieving your luggage.

If you would like to send your luggage to a domestic address within Japan, please use Yamato Transport (TA-Q-BIN).
Shipping forms (prepaid, cash on delivery, and multiple parcels), cardboard boxes (available for a fee), and packing tape are available at the front desk.

Delivery Service / Carry Service
If you wish to send your luggage to Kyoto Station or your next accommodation, please use the Delivery Service or Carry Service.
The final acceptance time is 10:00 AM.
Please note that when sending luggage to hotels within Kyoto City or Osaka City, please confirm in advance that the destination hotel supports this service.

We sell a convenient one-day pass that allows unlimited rides on subways and city buses within the valid area for one day.
The price is 1,100 yen per ticket (tax included).
Subway and bus maps are also available. Please ask the front desk if you would like one.

Mineral Water for Sale
The mineral water “MIRAIZ” provided in your room is also available for purchase at the front desk.
The price is 110 yen per bottle (tax included). *Served at room temperature.
Original Yunomi Teacup for Sale
The yunomi teacup provided in your room is available for purchase exclusively at the front desk.
The price is 1,000 yen per piece (tax included).
The side of the cup features Chion-in’s temple crest “Mitsuba Aoi” and the Jodo sect crest “Tsukikage Gyōyō,” and the back is inscribed with “Chion-in Wajun Kaikan.”
This yunomi makes a lovely souvenir to commemorate your stay.

Monthly Magazine “Chion” for Sale
The Chion-in devotional magazine “Chion,” provided in your room, is also available for purchase at the front desk.
The price is 400 yen per copy (tax included).
“Chion” is a monthly magazine founded by Chion-in Temple in 1949 to present the teachings of Honen Shonin and Buddhist principles in an easy-to-understand way.
It is published for those seeking a deeper understanding of faith and a sense of inner peace (sarana).
Original Umbrella for Sale
Umbrellas featuring the Wajun Kaikan logo are available for purchase at 1,500 yen each (tax included).
We also offer umbrellas for free rental. Please contact the front desk if you would like to use one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I receive medicine such as cold or stomach medicine?
No. Under Article 24 of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, accommodation facilities are not permitted to provide medicines to guests.
We kindly ask that you prepare any necessary medication yourself.
However, non-medical items such as bandages are available. Please contact the front desk if needed.
Do you offer laundry services or facilities?
No. We do not have laundry facilities on site.
Please use a nearby coin-operated laundromat.

Can you make reservations at external restaurants for us?
We are sorry, but to avoid potential issues, we do not make reservations on behalf of guests.
Please make reservations yourself.
Are newspapers available?
Yes. Kyoto Shimbun and Nikkei newspapers are available in the lobby in front of the 1st-floor front desk.
Please note that newspapers are for lobby use only and may not be taken to guest rooms.
What cashless payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit cards only for non-cash payments.
(Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, UnionPay)
QR code payments and electronic money services such as PayPay are not accepted.
Is it possible to split payments or combine charges for multiple rooms?
Yes, this is possible. Please contact the front desk.
Can you issue a receipt for accommodation fees paid online?
No. Receipts for online payments cannot be issued at the front desk.
Please issue the receipt yourself through the booking website.
Can I specify the name on the receipt?
Yes. We can issue a receipt with your requested name. Please feel free to ask the front desk.
Please note that receipts without a name cannot be issued.
Can you issue a handwritten receipt?
Yes. Please note that this may take some time, so we kindly ask that you inform the front desk in advance.
Can restaurant, shop, or café charges be billed to my room?
Yes, this is possible.
When charging to your room, please present your room key to the staff.
Can I pay the Shakyo fee by credit card?
No. Payment is accepted in cash only.
If I paid a “tax-included” room rate online, why is the accommodation tax charged separately?
The term “tax-included” on booking websites refers to consumption tax only and does not include the accommodation tax.
Except for certain booking sites, the accommodation tax is generally collected on site.
This tax is based on a Kyoto City ordinance and is used to enhance the city’s appeal as an international cultural and tourist destination.
