Where is the nearest convenience store?
The nearest convenience store is a FamilyMart near Yasaka Shrine.

No. There is no microwave available for guest use.
However, the front desk staff can heat items for you upon request.

Ice can be delivered to your room by the front desk staff, so please call extension 9 or ask a staff member.
Where is the “Rooftop Terrace” on the 2nd floor?
It is located directly in front of the elevator hall, but it is currently closed due to operational reasons.

About the Buddhism Ceremony
Is participation in the ceremony mandatory?
No. Participation is not mandatory.
Please feel free to join only if you wish.
Is a reservation or prior notice required to participate?
No reservation is required.
If you wish to participate, please gather by the designated meeting time.
Are there any items I need to bring?
No special items are required.
Please note that prayer beads or robes are not available for rental.
Is there a dress code?
There is no specific dress code. Casual clothing is acceptable.
However, please refrain from attending in the in-room yukata.
May I leave the hall during the ceremony?
Yes, you may leave at any time.
However, please try to avoid leaving during the Dharma talk.
Is it necessary to sit in the formal kneeling position?
No. There is no requirement to sit in seiza.
Chairs are available inside the hall for your comfort.
Is there a shuttle bus available early in the morning?
We regret that there is no bus service in the early morning.
Guests who are unable to walk to the hall due to personal circumstances may drive up to the area in front of the Founder’s Hall (near Taiheitei).
Please ask the front desk for guidance on parking and routes.
Taxis can also be arranged at the front desk to take you to the Founder’s Hall.
Can guests using wheelchairs participate?
Yes, participation is possible.
Please ask the front desk staff for information on wheelchair-accessible routes.
Is there seated meditation (zazen) during the ceremony?
No. Zazen meditation is not practiced in Jōdo Buddhism, and it is not part of this ceremony.
Are the gardens open or are goshuin stamps available in the early morning?
We regret that garden viewing and goshuin services begin at 9:00 a.m.
Can people from other Buddhist schools participate?
Yes. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of religious background.
Is photography allowed inside the hall?
Photography and video recording are not permitted inside the hall.
About Guest Rooms
Is there only one room key?
Up to two keys can be provided per room.
If you need an additional key, please ask the front desk staff.
Is the tap water in the room drinkable?
Yes. The tap water is safe for drinking.
Can I get additional bottled water?
The first bottle provided in the room is complimentary.
Additional bottles are available for purchase at the front desk for 110 yen (tax included) per bottle.
Where can I find the yukata and hair dryer?
Both are located in the drawer inside the closet in your room.
Can I choose the size of the yukata?
Yes, you may choose your size.
A medium size is provided in the room by default, and small and extra-large sizes are also available.
Please ask the front desk staff if you would like a different size.
Are yukata available for children?
Yes, children’s yukata are available.
We offer two sizes: Medium (for children approximately 100–110 cm tall) and Large (approximately 120–130 cm tall).
Please ask the front desk staff if you need one.
Should I leave my room key at the front desk when going out?
Either option is fine.
If you are concerned about losing your key, we can keep it at the front desk.
Is it possible to extend my stay or check-out time?
Availability depends on the situation.
Please inquire with the front desk staff if you wish to request an extension.
May I meet non-registered guests in my room?
For security reasons, meetings with visitors inside guest rooms are not permitted.
Please use the lobby area for meetings.
Front Desk Services
Can you arrange a taxi for me?
Yes, we can arrange a taxi at the front desk. Please feel free to ask our staff.
Reservations for a specific time are also possible.
On days with high taxi demand, such as during bad weather, it may take a long time for a taxi to arrive, or we may be unable to arrange one.
Thank you for your understanding.
When the taxi arrives, a front desk staff member or the driver will come to the lobby to escort you.
After requesting a taxi, please wait in the lobby area.
※If you are not present in the lobby at the designated time, the reservation may be canceled.
Please note that a pick-up fee set by the taxi company will apply.
For reservations with a specified time, an additional reservation handling fee (AI reservation arrangement fee) will also be charged.
Can you send my luggage to Kyoto Station or my next hotel?
Yes, we can assist you with this service.
Please ask the front desk staff for details.
Please note that the final acceptance time for shipping arrangements is 10:00 a.m.
Can you send my luggage to my home?
Yes. We work with Yamato Transport and can ship your luggage from the front desk.

Yes, luggage storage is available after check-out.
Please note that we may not be able to store luggage containing valuables or fragile items.

Can I receive medicine such as cold or stomach medicine?
No. Under Article 24 of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, accommodation facilities are not permitted to provide medicine to guests.
We kindly ask that you prepare any necessary medication yourself.
However, non-medicinal items such as adhesive bandages are available upon request at the front desk.
Can I borrow an umbrella on rainy days?
Yes, umbrellas are available upon request at the front desk.
Please note that quantities are limited.
Umbrellas are also available for purchase at the front desk.
Do you have laundry services or facilities?
No, we do not have laundry facilities on-site.
Please use a nearby coin-operated laundry.

About Payments
What cashless payment methods are accepted?
Payments other than cash are accepted by credit card only.
(Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, UnionPay)
We do not accept QR code payments such as PayPay or electronic money.
Can I request separate payments or a combined payment for multiple rooms?
Yes, both options are available.

Can you issue a receipt for accommodation fees paid through an online booking site?
No. The front desk cannot issue receipts for payments made through online booking sites.
Please issue the receipt directly from the booking website yourself.
Can I specify the name on the receipt?
Yes, we can issue a receipt with your requested name.

However, receipts without a specified name cannot be issued.
Can you issue a handwritten receipt?
Yes, handwritten receipts are available.
As preparation may take some time, please inform the front desk staff in advance.
Can restaurant, shop, or café charges be billed to my room?
Yes, this is possible.
When charging to your room, please be sure to present your room key to the staff.
Can I pay the Shakyo (sutra copying) fee by credit card?
No. Payment is accepted in cash only.
I paid a “tax-included” accommodation fee when booking online. Why is the accommodation tax charged separately?
The term “tax-included” on online booking sites refers to consumption tax only and does not include the accommodation tax.
Except for certain booking sites, the accommodation tax is generally payable on-site.
This tax is collected in accordance with Kyoto City regulations and is used to fund measures aimed at enhancing Kyoto’s appeal as an international cultural and tourist city.

About the Large Public Bath
Are towels provided in the large public bath?
No. Towels are not provided in the large public bath.
Please be sure to bring towels from your guest room when using the bath.
Are skincare amenities available in the large public bath?
No. Skincare amenities are not provided in the large public bath.
They are available at the front desk, so please feel free to ask a front desk staff member.
Are there lockers for valuables in the large public bath?
Yes. A sufficient number of lockers for valuables are available for your use.
Is it okay to go to the large public bath wearing a yukata and slippers?
Yes. You may move around inside the building wearing a yukata and slippers.
Is this a hot spring?
No. This is not a hot spring.
Can I use the large public bath if I have tattoos?
Guests with tattoos are kindly asked to cover them with stickers or similar coverings when using the large public bath.
